Happy New Year, Happy 1968! It is just past midnight and this party filmed by Massimo Bacigalupo, at his parents' house, symbolically - and probably by pure chance - condenses in the microcosm of Rapallo the spirit of the time that will explode in that fateful year: the generation of fathers and sons will soon come into conflict, here then there is a certain international air brought by artists and intellectuals. The old and the new for now celebrate together. Massimo himself describes the sequence as follows: "New Year's Eve 1968 in Rapallo, at the home of Giuseppe and Frieda Bacigalupo, doctors of Italian-German and Italian-American ancestry respectively. In the first, more formal part, appear the then owner of the Castello (Brown) in Portofino, Jocelyn Baber, in white, the eccentric Sienese painter Charis Vivante (1930-2015), the bearded American painter John Freda and his Danish companion Ulla. Then, among others, the landlords, he in a bow tie, she with her back turned, and the impeccable maid Angela. In the second part -- a series of close-ups -- the adults leave the field to the kids: my brother Andrea (with bow tie and glass) and friends. The actor Ruggero Dondi (with a moustache), who had lent his voice for a scene in 'Almost a Bribe', and the critic Nuccio Lodato, who takes off his dark glasses, are referenced in the film world'.
