The production of amateur films within the Cinegufs mostly took place in 16 millimetre format. This was a choice that also progressively conditioned the organisation of the competitions in which the Cinegufs participated. From 1938 onwards, the format will officially be 16 millimetres, which will progressively be recognised as the Cineguf's cinema format. This marked a way of distinguishing itself from the previous cine-dilitant production of the Cineclubs and the Pathé Baby format of the amateur.
