Friday 13 November 1970, in the Bertolani house in Reggio Emilia, little Gabriele is celebrated for his birthday. The child turns two under the eyes of his father and his 8mm camera. While Gabriele blows out the candles and is celebrated, on the other side of the world, in the area of East Pakistan soon to be known as Bangladesh, a dramatic event takes place. A tropical cyclone strikes the densely populated area of the Ganges Delta, killing hundreds of thousands of people in what is regarded as the worst cyclone disaster of the 20th century. This tragedy contributes to the anger of the population who, with India's military help, will gain 'independence from Pakistan the following year. Western consciousness will be shaken by the situation in Bangladesh, then hit by a severe famine, and above all by one of the first major charity concerts, which will take place in New York with many musicians adhering to George Harrison's appeal.
