Dante Alberti is a car enthusiast with whom he works, running a car dealership, but he is also an amateur film buff. On 17 October 1948, he rushes with his 16mm camera to the inauguration of the Monza racetrack, which was restored after being damaged during the war and after having been used as a war residue depot. The 7th Monza Grand Prix saw the victory of Jean-Pierre Wimille, followed by Carlo Felice Trossi and Consalvo Sanesi. Three Alfa Romeos on the podium and also the fastest lap for the same team, a triumph. The new circuit is very fast and also very dangerous. Within a few years, new modifications will have to be made. In the meantime, let's enjoy the beautiful images by Alberti, who captures the highlights of the day, the advertising signs and the mood of the public lurking a little where they happen to be, even standing on the roofs of parked buses.
