Films about cats have always been a sub-genre of amateur cinema. For a long time now, feline friends, especially kittens, have catalysed the interest of film cameras, as in this film dedicated to one of them, 'Kòscecka, bratty cat'. Nicolò La Colla and Adriana Panini after getting married in Rome (wedding film on 24 July), have just moved to Turin, and on 26 August 1934 are at home with their newly arrived kitten. Like all kittens, Kòscecka never stands still, he plays, gets cuddled and interacts with his environment and family. It is the discovery of the world, of the domestic environment in which he will live (a later shot shows him bigger, grappling with a piece of cloth near the sewing machine). Magnificent close-ups and details. For La Colla, the 8mm film is an opportunity to portray the cat, his wife and himself with a cup of coffee, a bun, a rag doll and anything else that recalls the sense of a newly formed family.
